Harrison Township Zoning Commission
April 9, 2012
The Harrison Twp. Zoning Commission April meeting was called to order by Chair Kelly Spriggs at
8:00 P.M. Present were Barbara Younkin, Dorothy Green, Kelly Spriggs, Ronde Cook-Brushart, Joe DeFelice, and Carol Balthaser.
Minutes from the January 9, 2012 meeting were read. Dorothy Green moved to approve the minutes as read. Barbara Younkin seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Joe is continuing to work with Pandora Grain as necessary in order to accomplish the items set forth in the November 16, 2010 public hearing.
Dorothy told the Zoning Commission that all three (3) houses at the Pandora Duvall Road location are now empty, and the grass is not being cut. Some break-ins have occurred, and people have been apprehended in relation to these break-ins. Also, someone has torn out the fences. Ronde asked whether there was any signage in regards to trespassing. Dorothy stated that there was none. Joe said that the railroad is responsible for protecting the property against vandalism as well as a legal standpoint.
A letter would need to originate from the Trustees in order for the grass to be cut.
Kelly asked whether the zoning permit filed by and approved for Greenlawn to erect a second stick-built home at 1390 Duvall Road, Lockbourne was approved with a basement. Joe stated that he would have to review his zoning permits in order to be able to answer Kelly’s question.
Barbara asked Joe if the Zoning Commission could request of John Timmons that the burned property on State Route 23 be cleaned up. Joe said that he would begin proceedings to accomplish the clean-up.
Carol asked the Zoning Commission whether they wanted the meeting minutes held for additions, corrections and approval before being posted on the Harrison Township website. Barbara moved to have only minutes approved by the Zoning Commission posted. Dorothy seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Dorothy moved to adjourn. Ronde seconded the motion. All in favor—motion passed.
